Rachel and Jacob at Casa Valerie
Last October we had the honor of flowering our first international destination wedding Puerto Vallarta at Casa Valerie.
With it being our first wedding in Mexico, we didn’t know exactly what to expect but we knew we would have fun and figure out any obstacles that came our way. Mother Nature gave us the biggest test when Puerto Vallarta got hit by a large hurricane the week before the wedding. The house and surrounding area was badly damaged, but luckily the amazing staff at Casa Valerie got the space ready in time and the wedding went off without a hitch.
Rachel’s bouquet was modern, structural and very chic. We used white roses, orchids and anthurium as the focal point with lisianthus and bleached product for an accent. We made sure not to take away from her dress so we kept it fairly petite. But come on, just look at the Chosen By Kyha dress . Nothing can steal that thunder. Rachel looked like an absolute goddess. The ladies all held single stem white roses with a long ivory ribbon tied on each to contrast their black formal dresses.
For the ceremony, we used the bright blue pool as the backdrop, creating a pedestal installation composed of white flowers in various shapes and textures. We foraged rocks from the beach next to our Air BNB for the perfect local touch. A long winding aisle of baby’s breath finished the look.
The reception took place on the same level as the pool overlooking the ocean and the iconic island rock formations in Puerto Vallarta. The view of the water was surreal and absolutely breathtaking. Long tables outlined the black and white checkerboard dance floor with string bulb lights strung overhead. We kept the tables simple with pillar candles, orchid heads and lots of white petals. Black ribbon was tied around the glassware, nodding to the classic palette of the dance floor and wedding overall.
Every detail was so thoughtful and chic and we had an amazing time getting to know our photographer and videographer roommates at the Air BNB. They captured the day so beautifully and were a blast to hang with.
